Sandall Car Care, referred to “the Firm” “we” or “us” in this notice.

your data is processed is a priority at Sandall Car Care. We are dedicated to ensuring that we
are transparent about the data that we collect about you, how we use it and the conditions

Personal data we collect

 

We will only collect relevant information to enable us to carry out the services that you have

 

requested. We review our retention periods from time to time and will only hold your

 

personal data for as long as it is necessary for the original purpose it was collected for, as

 

required by law or so that we can complete the contract we may have with you.

 

Estimates

 

So that we can complete an estimate for the likely costs of repair to your vehicle, we require

 

your name, contact information and vehicle details. This information is required so that we

 

can correctly cost your repairs and communicate with you. We will hold this information

 

until it is converted into a contracted repair job for you or for up to 6 months if not

 

converted.

 

Courtesy vehicles

 

If you take a courtesy vehicle we require sight of and a copy of your driving licence. We will

 

store your details in case of speeding, parking or other motoring offences that may occur.

 

Visiting our premises

 

We may operate CCTV on our premises, therefore your image and images of your vehicle &

 

registration may be captured.

How we may use your personal data

 

Where there is a legitimate interest

 

We may process your personal information where it is necessary for us to pursue our

 

Legitimate Interest as a business for the following purposes:

 

 

General Administration

 

We may need to process your personal data to manage your queries, complaints, or claims

 

(including insurance claims) and may result in us contacting you by the contact details you

 

have previously provided.

 

Where required to perform a Contract with you;

 

We may process your personal data where it is necessary for the performance of a contract

 

with you (when we commence your requested repairs) or in order to take steps at your

 

request before entering into a contract with you including for repair costing purposes.

 

Where required to comply with our Legal Obligation;

 

We will use your personal data to comply with our Legal Obligation including:

 

(a) to assist HMRC, the Police, the DVLA or any other public authority or criminal

 

investigation body;

 

(b) to identify you when you contact us

 

(c) to verify the accuracy of the data that we hold about you

 

 

Sharing Data with third parties

 

In order to make certain services available to you, we may disclose your personal

 

information to third parties. We will only disclose the minimum amount of personal data so

 

that we can provide the service. No third party will ever have marketing rights over your

Marketing

 

We do not use your personal information for any marketing purposes.

 

How long do we hold your personal data for?

 

Sandall Car Care will only retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to fulfil

 

the purposes we collected it for, including satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting

 

requirements. In some cases, we may anonymise your personal information so that it can no

 

longer be associated with you and in which case we may use the information without

“data subject access request”

 

Request correction of your personal information, so that we can correct any

 

incomplete or inaccurate information.

 

Request erasure of your personal data so that we can delete or remove information

legitimate interest and there is something about your personal situation in which

 

you would object to us processing it.
